Our Retired Pastor - The Rev. Frank L. Starkey

Pstor Frank L. Starkey

Pastor Frank served Light of Christ as their interim pastor from March 16, 2008 to January 31st, 2010. Until his peaceful passing to be with the Lord Pastor Frank resided in King City with his wife Barbara where they owned the oldest house in town which they turned into the only Bed and Breakfast in South Valley. Pastor Frank retired from Red Hill Lutheran in Tustin California in 1996 and has served three other congregations as interim Pastor since that retirement. Grace Lutheran in King City, Los Altos Lutheran in Los Altos and Trinity Lutheran in Hollister. He is author of four books in the Lutheran Faith.

Pastor Frank L. Starkey, a graduate of Wittenberg University and Hamma School of Theology (now Trinity Lutheran Seminary), has served parishes in Michigan, Iowa, and Arizona. In California he has served parishes in Escondido, Glendale, Cerritos, Mission Viejo and Tustin. Pastor has written several books: “Our Faith”, “Becoming One Flesh”, “Questions and Answers about the Sacraments”, and “A Spiritual Gifts Model of Volunteerism.” He has also supervised five seperate internship programs. Pastor has completed the Basic Training for Intentional Interim Ministry (IIM) and served as IIM in King City, Los Altos and Hollister, California. He and his wife Barbara reside in King City and have been married fifty-five years. They have three married children living in California and eight grandchildren. They own the Carriage House Inn Bed and Breakfast in King City, and Barbara has been a columnist for THE RUSTLER newspaper for over 10 years.
